Our story
Welcome to MATTTEO, a Belgian family company with
a passion for logistics, innovation and craftsmanship.
Started in 2009 as a local initiative, MATTTEO is now an
international player in modular storage and transport
systems and laboratory furniture. As a proud member
of the ZYSTM Group, we combine family values with the
strength of a strong international group.
2016
ISO-modular fit-out of the new AZ Alma hospital in
Eeklo (BE) where 4 Medical Technical Departments also
work with our RFID i-ROOM inventory management
system.
2018
ISO-modular fit-out of the new Sint-Maarten hospital
in Mechelen (BE).
2009
Rik Vandenweghe founds the family business MATTTEO
in Lille (near Antwerp). At that time, he already has
more than 30 years of professional experience in
implementing logistics solutions in the healthcare
sector. Back in 1978, Rik started to promote the newly
conceived ISO modular system and he introduced
it in the Benelux, France, Spain and Portugal in the
following decades.
2019
ISO-modular fit-out of the new PMTL building of
the Strasbourg University Hospital (FR) and of the
medical technical building with 30 operating
theatres.
2020
2010
MATTTEO designs and invests in moulds for the
injection moulding of its own modular trays,
baskets, walls and accessories. User-friendliness and
sustainability are key principles in the design.
ISO-modular fit-out of the new GHOL hospital in
Nyon (Switzerland). All departments work with our
RFID i-ROOM inventory management system.
2021
2012
ISO modular fit-out of the new ISALA hospital in
Zwolle. With 942 beds, ISALA is the largest nonacademic hospital in the Netherlands.
2015
ISO-modular fit-out of the new Centre Hospitalier de
Gonesse (FR) near Paris, a hospital with more than
500 beds.
To support MATTTEO’s growth, Danish laboratory and
cabinet manufacturer Zystm A/S acquires a majority
stake in the company. MATTTEO commercially retains
its own name and identity, but legally continues as
Zystm BV. With the know-how and technical support
of the Danish parent company, more products can
be developed and produced in-house. MATTTEO also
enters the laboratory market.
2022
ISO-modular fit-out of the new ZNA Cadix hospital in
Antwerp (BE).
