i-Room Automated inventory management
MATTTEO’s i-ROOM RFID system is a cutting-edge, realtime Kanban and item-level inventory management solution tailored for all hospital departments. Leveraging
RFID technology, it offers an automated and intelligent
way to manage departmental stocks, improving both
operational efficiency and stock accuracy.
to take orders manually, such as by scanning barcodes. Orders are registered in real-time within the IRIS
software.
•
Seamless HIS Integration:
The IRIS software collects and buffers logistical data,
which is forwarded to the Hospital Information System
(HIS) at scheduled intervals. These schedules are customizable per department. The HIS processes this data
to generate packing and supply lists, ensuring accurate
stock adjustments in the central warehouse and pharmacy while supplying departments as needed.
•
Efficient Restocking:
Logistics staff restock products in the appropriate
compartments and move the RFID-tagged cards back
to the left side of the label holders. This action signals the IRIS software that the products have been
successfully restocked.
•
Item-Level Stock Management:
For high-value items such as prostheses, catheters
or surgical suture, RFID tags can be affixed directly to
the product packaging. Each time a product is removed or added, the stock is automatically adjusted in
real-time on the IRIS dashboard. This ensures precise
inventory tracking at item level.
Features and Benefits
•
•
Automatic Stock Updates:
RFID antennas detect in real-time when Kanban compartments with consumables are empty and need
to be replenished, eliminating the need for manual
stock counts. Nurses simply slide the RFID-tagged
plastic card in the compartment label holder from
left to right for seamless updates.
Enhanced Efficiency:
Hospital and logistics staff save valuable time as manual stock checks and replenishment tracking are no
longer required. Notifications are automatically sent
when minimum stock levels (e.g., one empty compartment) are reached.
•
Error Reduction:
By automating stock management, the system significantly reduces the risk of human errors, such as
incorrect entries or missed updates.
•
Improved Cost Control:
Accurate stock records enable better procurement
planning. Based on the data collected, item stocks
can be adjusted to an optimal level to reduce the
overall stock value and minimise the number of
expired products.
•
User-Friendly Interface:
The intuitive dashboard in the IRIS software provides a real-time overview of all products on order by
department. Emergency orders, triggered when both
compartments are empty, are prominently displayed
for quick action.
•
Significant Time Savings:
Logistics staff no longer need to visit departments
